Donna Rubin enjoys visiting the cider mills of Michigan with her trained therapy dog, Pax, a rescued Pomapoo*. As an educator, Donna is a lifelong learner of local history and food who shares her love for the “mitten” with students of all ages with her puppet, Puppy Appleseed.

As a 29-year early childhood master educator, Donna knows how a picture book should look and sound for young audiences. Her first book, Log Cabin Kitty, TCU Press, 2012, was awarded the HEB Best Children’s Book by the Texas Institute of Letters. She enjoys author visits with her kitty puppet, Miss Pepper, and always looks forward to visiting local cider mills in the fall during special events and gift shop promotions with her puppy puppet, Puppy Appleseed, or even with her trained therapy dog Pax, pictured on the cover.

Maranda Zimmerman is an art student studying Computer Graphics Animation. She enjoys creating stories and various animal characters but especially dogs. When not imagining, she likes to spend time with her family and her pit bull Cletus.
